higher ratio of English Teachers is obvious,

I have calculated that two English teachers are

required for each three Divisions in the Upper

School at Queen's College.

As to the proportion between English

Masters and English Mistresses, I have considered

it necessary that the Head teachers and second

teachers of each school should be men, and all

the teachers in the Upper School at Queen's

College should also be men. The rest can be

Women.

This portion of the Estimates should

then on my present recommendation appear as foll-

-OWS:-

STAFF FOR SCHOOLS TEACHING ENGLISH TO CHINES

AND INDIAN BOYS. (1)

Headmaster, Queen's College.
